Some good news at last.

The official opening of the green will be at 1.00pm on Saturday 26th March.

This will be a social occasion for all members come along and see for themselves the fantastic transformation, of the green and the surrounds, carried out by our

Green Manager and the volunteer maintenance crew over the closed season.

Following the bowling of the first wood of the year, traditionally the privilege of the President, there will be tea, coffee and cakes followed an impromptu bowling

event, no prize money, just for the joy of getting back on the green.

This is always a happy social occasion so please do your best to attend and help get this new season off to flying start.

Fixtures for the new season are available on most of the League websites and can

also be accessed on the club’s own website at www.ainsdalebowlingclub.co.uk.

This year all League registration fees will be met by the club as a result of the windfall received from the CASC tax rebate and it is hoped that this will be continued for future years.

The committee will soon be arranging for a professional trainer to come along and provide training for members in the use of the club’s defibrillator.

It is important that as many people as possible take the opportunity of learning how to use this vital piece of equipment and for those folk who have previously

undergone training to brush up on their technique.

Remember it may be your life that is saved one day.

Coaching sessions will again be introduced by our qualified coaches, starting at 10am on Saturday 9th April and continuing each Saturday morning during April.

It is also intended to provide refresher courses for existing members who may wish to improve their game. The refresher courses will follow immediately after

each of the introduction sessions, those people interested should contact Sanny McCarter or Vera McGee.

This is to be held at 7.30pm on Sunday 3rd April and bowling club members are invited to attend.

Len Adams, Secretary
