COMMITTEE MINUTES FEBRUARY10TH 2025

ABC COMMITTEE MEETING,

Venue: Ainsdale Club, 10am Monday 10th February 2025.

Present: Bob Fairhurst (Chair), Karen Dyson, Trevor Dyson, Ed Tennant, Lynn Roberti, Vera McGee, Gary Baker, Len Adams, Simon and Trish Biddolph.

Apologies: Haydn Preece.

MINUTES The minutes of 24th September 2024were approved and signed by the Chair.

MATTERS ARISING  None

GREEN MANAGER’S REPORT (HP)

HP had reported that the green received the first cut of the year on 20th Jan and despite heavy rain in October has wintered well and looking in really good condition. The aim is to open the green in the second week of March but this will be weather dependant.

MAIN CLUB REPORT (BF)

Nothing relevant to bowls section to report from Main Club committee meeting.

TREASURERS REPORT  (TD)

The Bowls Club finances are in good order, current bank balance c £7k.

Investigating possible grant aid towards replacement of floodlights, est. cost £5k.

Subscription to remain at £90 for 2025.

MEMBERSHIP (LA)  Nothing to report.

GENERAL BUSINESS

• AGM – A vice-chair and one new committee member still required.
• Cleaning contract approved to. One hour weekly at £15.
• Coaching – to be continued again over four Saturday mornings in April.
• Ground maintenance – Roofing on shelter and flag pole repairs in hand following storm damage.
• Safeguarding – Updates to accreditation certificates to be checked and renewed if necessary.
• Club Competitions – dates for a full series of club competitions provided by Trish & Simon Biddolph with thanks from the committee for their welcome and valuable contribution.

Handicap system to be developed and implemented for all club events.

Use of a BBQ to be looked at with a view to use on competition days.

• Green opening – provisionally Saturday 22nd March, 1pm start.
