Message from our new chair – Gary Baker
Last night’s AGM saw a changing of the guard at the committee. 💂♂️
Karen ended her 3 year tenure, and was given a vote of thanks for the excellent job she has done. Then Len stepped down from his role of club secretary; he has served as secretary for nearly ten years.
As we all know, it is the club secretary that is the engine room and taskmaster of the club, making sure the club actually functions on a day to day basis. It is said that without the secretary the club would simply not run.
Len has been the backbone of Ainsdale Bowling Club, for the past 10 years, and was warmly thanked for all of his hard work. 👏👏👏
Brian Kneale said “The chair takes all the glory, whilst it is the secretary who actually does all the work”. As the new chair I am more than happy with this description 😂
Simon is taking on the role of secretary, and clearly has his work cut out. 🥴👍
We also welcomed Peter Lord as the newest member of the committee, and Brian Kneale as the Deputy Chair.
All other positions remain as before.
There will be an inevitable hand-over from Len to Simon as secretary and this is proceeding as I type.
