HEATEAVE GUIDANCE FOR ALL PLAYERS
HEATWAVE GUIDANCE FOR ALL PLAYERS
With forecast temperatures of 34–35°C over the coming days, all members are asked to take extra precautions when playing or spectating.
The Committee strongly recommends that all players:
Bring and regularly drink plenty of water or other non-alcoholic fluids.
Wear a hat or cap and use sunscreen.
Wear light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing where appropriate.
Take advantage of any available shade between ends.
Avoid excessive physical exertion before and after matches.
Inform a fellow player if they feel unwell.
Players must stop playing immediately and seek assistance if they experience any of the following symptoms:
Dizziness or light-headedness
Headache
Nausea
Excessive sweating or cessation of sweating
Muscle cramps
Confusion or unusual fatigue
The Committee wishes to remind all members that their health and safety must take priority over any competition or fixture. Any player who feels unable to compete in the prevailing conditions should not feel under any pressure to do so.
The situation will continue to be monitored and further measures may be introduced if temperatures remain exceptionally high.
