MINUTES 12 SEPTEMBER 2025

ABC COMMITTEE MEETING Thursday 12th Sept 2025.

Present: Karen Dyson (Chair), Trevor Dyson, Lynn Roberti, Gary Baker, Haydn Preece,

Vera McGee, and Len Adams. Apologies: Simon Biddolph, Ed Tennant.

MINUTES The minutes of 12th Aug 2025 were approved and signed by the Chair.

MATTERS ARISING None.

GREEN MANAGER’S REPORT (HP)

Good feedback from Inter-town match, hopeful of more similar events for next season.

Green over-seeded twice July/early Aug, aerated and lawn sand administered. Some

potential dry patches will need to be addressed. Still awaiting prices for second mower and

leaf blower. seaweed feed/wetting agent. There are some dry patch potential areas which

will need attention. Captains to be reminded once again re swishing before matches as

worms more likely to be a problem towards end of season. Winter bowling realistic weather

permitting. Parks League to be warned all future use of Ainsdale for neutral venues must be

approved by the committee in advance.

Winter mowing to be continued, help required to remove green waste bags.

MAIN CLUB REPORT (KD)

Little to report. Bar franchise still being unco-operative. Consider possible temporary bar

licence for next season.

TREASURERS REPORT (TD)

All outstanding invoices settled only winter contract works to be paid for. Expected Y/E

balance c £7.5k.

MEMBERSHIP Nothing to report.

GENERAL BUSINESS

• Floodlight installation completed, contractor due back for minor adjustments, event held

on green to celebrate well attended.

• 47 members have confirmed attendance to club day out at Longton.

• Annual dinner at Dolce Vita slow booking, email reminder of closure date to be sent to

members.

• Proposed changes to Constitution discussed and generally approved

• LV League – 15 members expressed interest, LJA agreed to be acting captain.

• Green to be closed from 1st October for winter maintenance to start.
