GREEN MANAGER’S REPORT (HP)
The green overall is in good condition and has enabled good bowling throughout the season. It has been over-seeded three times in the last two weeks, aerated regularly and been treated with a seaweed feed/wetting agent. There are some dry patch potential areas which will need attention. It has been decided not to top dress this winter but Andrew Church will seed and aerate in September and administer final feed and treatments in October.
Next target is a good playing surface for the Ladies Inter-town match 23rd Aug. dependant on weather conditions prior to the event. A light-weight leaf blower to be purchased soon and Andrew Church to provide prices for the purchase of a winter mower.
Limited winter weekend bowling events to be considered for members only as an experiment. Captains to be reminded once again re swishing before matches as worms more likely to be a problem towards autumn.
MAIN CLUB REPORT (KD)
A compromise reached with franchise, the pool table in the bar area to be covered from 8.30pm Monday – Friday during the bowling season.
Full membership list completed, will ensure all Pool/Darts house member subs are paid.
Accepted Bowls subs make substantial contribution to Club finances but Club Constitution allows a sport to be stopped if subs not paid, however Sports levy to be reviewed annually.
Agreed we pay remainder of sports levy for this year but request Club to ensure CASC refunds from Pool/Darts are retained by the Club as addition to house subs.
Suggested Bowls committee begin to consider positive plans for future of our site including possible redevelopment of the clubhouse.
