EDDIE TENNANT MERIT TROPHY FOR MEN – A CALL-OUT FOR PLAYERS

Dear members
Eddie Tennant was a huge presence at our club over the years, as was his wife Chrissie.
A Merit Trophy for men was a prestigious one in past years, involving knockout singles played with no handicaps and to 31-up.
We have re-established this men’s competition in 2026 and the trophy has been re-named the ‘Eddie Tennant Merit Trophy’ in honour of the man himself; he is unable to attend the final in person and present the trophy but his daughters Shirley & Lynne have been invited to attend in his place.
The qualifying rounds upto and including the quarter finals will be played at the discretion of the drawn players after the draw on Saturday 13th May, but the semi-finals and final will be played on Saturday 13th June when we will hold a BBQ and have drinks available in our clubhouse.
The registration form is on the clubhouse noticeboard and the draw will be made by the Chair on Saturday 13th May, so please sign up by then: players will be notified of their opponents and should arrange to play each other at their mutual convenience.
A results sheet to be filled in as matches are played will be on the same noticeboard, and further draws will be similarly communicated.
Please make every effort to take part and to come and support the players on the finals day.
Thanks you
Simon Biddolph
ABC Secretary
